Tom Wark
A public relations and marketing consultant to the wine industry for the past twenty years at Wark Communications, Tom Wark expected he’d always remain behind the scenes while putting his clients in the limelight. That changed in 2004 when he started “FERMENTATION: The Daily Wine Blog. More than five years later, Tom is currently ranked as the number one wine blogger in America and was given the “Mover & Shaker” award for 2009 by PostRank, an organization that ranks blogs for their reach and interaction. He is the founder of the American Wine Blog Awards, which has for the past three years identified the best wine blogs in America and is the author of the American Wine Writer Survey. At FERMENTATION Tom writes daily on the business, culture and politics of wine in his uniquely personal, philosophical
and take-no-prisoners manner. Tom is also the Executive Director of the Specialty Wine Retailers Association, a position that puts him in the middle of the direct shipping battles. He lives and works in Sonoma Valley.
